At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

"Complete junk...get Dreamweaver"
I recently upgraded from GoLive v5 and boy does this new GoLive CS2 stink. It really has only 2 real problems: 1) it takes a LONG time to load and 2) crashes every 40-60 minutes. These are simply unacceptable in an application of this type, and...
PROS: Nice interface, powerful tools, easy to use
CONS: ...when its not crashing

GoLive has been the poorer cousin of Dreamweaver over the last few years, which is a shame, because in many ways it's a superior app. For one thing, GoLive is easier to use. It's WYSIWYG, just like Dreamweaver, but its 'layout grid' option for buildi
PROS: Built-in live rendering with Opera Simulate mobile phone browsers Easier to use than Dreamweaver Auto-export web graphics from CS2 files

"It could be so much better. Learning the work-flow is a breeze, making it..."

PROS: It has a very tight integration with the Adobe CS2 Suite. It has a well-thought and clean design process, bundled templates are superb for learning and the css editor is simply brilliantly executed.
CONS: Version Cue CS2 integration at it's worse. It even doesn't work right even if the source is in the local hard drive. Previewing it in browsers spawns new windows everytime which makes it so confusing.

GoLive CS2
Ever since it purchased the GoLive Web design software six years ago, Adobe has worked hard to dovetail this tool to fit in with its more mature applications. Adobe GoLive CS2 further integrates its feature set and work flow with other Creative...
PROS: Enhances the creation of CSS Web sites and shares their elements across the Adobe CS2 product line; improved text, layer, and layout tools are a bonus.
CONS: Interface still requires extensive palette use; more complex than Macromedia Dreamweaver .
